In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise be to Allah, and may Allah's peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
I extend a warm welcome to you, on my own behalf and on behalf of my colleagues, the academic staff and employees of the Department of Clinical Technology at UQU College of Applied Medical Sciences.
The Department of Clinical Technology is proud to be one of the departments of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, which is a firmly-established college that contributes to graduating outstanding medical personnel, at the local and international levels. In 1435 A.H., this department became affiliated with the UQU College of Applied Medical Sciences, after it had been affiliated with the College of Health Informatics and Health Sciences (formerly: College of Health Sciences for Male Students).
The department includes three programs: Emergency Medical Services, Anesthesia Technology, and Respiratory Care, which are considered to be leading programs in the Saudi Kingdom, keeping pace with the rapid scientific and technological development. The Emergency Medical Services Program qualifies the graduates to work as specialists in the first aid and emergency departments at hospitals, while the Anesthesia Technology Program qualifies the graduates to work as anesthesia specialists, assisting anesthesiologists in surgery rooms at hospitals. In addition, the Respiratory Care Program qualifies the graduates to be reliable specialists in the field of respiratory diseases and the follow-up in intensive care units, as well as other medical units.
In 1435 A.H. (2015 A.C.), the department earned accreditation, all praise be to Allah, from the International German Quality Committee (AHPGS). Moreover, the department contributes to scientific research, community service, and voluntary work, as it includes a distinguished selection of academic staff in different fields of clinical technology.
This department aims at preparing qualified graduates who uphold the values of Umm Al-Qura University, and seek to accelerate productivity and development of the health sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in general, and in Makkah, in particular. The graduates will also be ready to serve the visitors of Allah's Sacred House.
Finally, we aspire to a promising and wonderful future for the Department of Clinical Technology, reaching the sky of creativity.
The Department Head
Dr. Basem Hasan Al-Sharif
