Evening Joint First Year Program

Participating Colleges:

  1. College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture (male students).
  2. College of Computers and Information Systems (male and female students).
  3. College of Business Administration (male and female students).

Duration of the Program:

One academic year consisting of two semesters, in which the students will study the approved courses stated in the study plan of the college they are enrolled in.

How to Pass the Program:

The student must obtain a GPA of at least 1.75 out of 4 at the end of the second semester, with the condition that they pass all the courses of the evening joint first year program.

The GPA which the students obtained in this year will be calculated in the total GPA.

Academic Actions:

The academic schedule is the same and fixed for each division, and the students are not allowed to delete or add courses, or amend any division.

Deprivation:

The student will not be allowed to complete their course or take the final exam if the percentage of their absence, with or without an excuse, exceeds 25% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons. In such a case, the student will fail this course and will receive a "D" (deprived) grade, and their enrollment in the program will be terminated. However, the Supervisory Committee may cancel the deprivation status and allow the student to take the exam provided that the student provides a reasonable excuse to the committee for their absence, and the percentage of their absence does not exceed 40% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons.

Termination of Enrollment:

The student's enrollment shall be terminated in the following cases:

  1. The percentage of the student's absence, with or without an excuse, exceeds 25% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons. In this case, the student will fail the course and receive a "D" grade.
  2. The student has failed any course stated in the study plan of the evening joint first year program, and has not obtained the required GPA (at least 1.75 out of 4).

** Notes:

  • The students enrolled in the evening joint first year program can re-sit the exams if they did not pass ten hours or less. This is considered to be an opportunity for them to pass all the courses, and fulfill the condition of passing them.
  • The students enrolled in this program are entitled to postpone study after obtaining an approved recommendation from the Council of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education, according to the applicable regulations at the Deanship of Admission and Registration.

Withdrawal:

The student should submit a request to withdrawal to the department offering the program at the College of Community Service and Continuing Education.

The student is entitled to have the fees refunded according to the following conditions:

  • If the student submits the request to withdrawal before the end of the second week of the first semester, they shall be entitled to a total refund.
  • If the student submits the request to withdrawal starting from the third week to the end of the eighth week of the first semester, they shall be entitled to a refund of half the fees.
  • If the student submits the request to withdrawal after the end of the eighth week of the first semester, they will not be entitled to a refund.
