Evening Qualifying Year Program

Participating Colleges:

  1. College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies (male and female students).
  2. College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion (male and female students).
  3. College of Arabic Language (male and female students).
  4. College of Social Sciences (male and female students).
  5. College of Applied Sciences (male students only).
  6. College of Islamic Economics and Finance (male and female students).
  7. Al-Qunfudhah University College (male and female students).
  8. Al-Leith University College (male and female students).
  9. Jamoum University College (male and female students).

Duration of the Program:

One academic year consisting of two semesters, in which the students will study the approved courses stated in the study plan of the college they are enrolled in.

How to Pass the Program:

The student must obtain a GPA of at least 2 out of 4 to join the evening qualifying year program.

The GPA which the students obtained in this year will be calculated in the total GPA.

Academic Actions:

The academic schedule is the same and fixed for each division, and the students are not allowed to delete or add courses, or amend any division.

Deprivation:

The student will not be allowed to complete their course or take the final exam if the percentage of their absence, with or without an excuse, exceeds 25% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons. In such a case, the student will fail this course will receive a "D" (deprived) grade, and their enrollment in the program will be terminated. However, the Supervisory Committee may cancel the deprivation status and allow the student to take the exam provided that the student provides a reasonable excuse to the committee for their absence, and the percentage of their absence does not exceed 40% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons.

Termination of Enrollment:

The student's enrollment shall be terminated in the following cases:

  1. The percentage of the student's absence, with or without an excuse, exceeds 25% of the total number of lectures and academic lessons. In this case, the student will fail the course and will receive a "D" grade.
  2. The student has not obtained the required GPA (at least 2 out of 4) although he has passed all the courses of the evening qualifying year program.

Withdrawal:

The student should submit a request for withdrawal to the department offering the program at the College of Community Service and Continuing Education.

The student is entitled to have the fees refunded according to the following conditions:

  • If the student submits the request for withdrawal before the end of the second week of the first semester, they shall be entitled to a total refund.
  • If the student submits the request for withdrawal starting from the third week to the end of the eighth week of the first semester, they shall be entitled to a refund of half the fees.
  • If the student submits the request for withdrawal after the end of the eighth week of the first semester, they will not be entitled to a refund.
