Established in: 1429H
The College of Administrative Sciences and Tourism was established in response to the developments and changes experienced by the local community. It also aimed to meet the requirements of comprehensive development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its needs of qualified human cadres and scientific and professional knowledge in the domains of administration and tourism. In addition, the College was established due to the emergence and growth of economic sectors in the local labor market. For example, the tourism sector became a significant part of national accounts; there were approaches to develop and utilize tourism to add to the gains of the national economy and diversify the economic base and the sources of national income. Moreover, the Hajj and Umrah industry, especially in Makkah, witnessed great development. Such industry became one of the largest touristic sectors in the region. In other words, such economic sectors needed training programs and qualified human resources from academic institutions.
In this context, the College of Administrative Sciences and Tourism was established. This was based on the cable no. 3604 dated 21st Shaaban 1426H by HRH Secretary General of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, which was generalized by the cable no. 35478/21/26 dated 10th Shawwal 1426H by HE the Minister of Education, on the recommendations of the third meeting of the Steering Committee on the National Project for the Development of Touristic Human Resources dated, 28th Shaaban 1426H.
