The Islamic Economics department was founded in 1401/1402 Hijri, as an endeavor on the part ofthe university to realize the much needed Islamic economic system and qualify competent scholars. Students are required to successfully complete (158) credit unitsin eight levels over four academic years, ranging from 19:21 credit hours, in order to graduate from the department in question. The department awards the bachelor degree in the specialization of Islamic Economics, besides; it takes part in, in collaboration with the Department of Religious Postgraduate Studies, preparing syllabi for the Masters and PhD degrees in the specialization of Islamic Economics as well as supervising students concerned.
