On Wednesday, 22/06/ 1438 H, the Unit of Community Service at UQU College of Dentistry made a visit to the Elementary School 22 in Makkah to take part in the school health day events.
The college mission was received by the School Principal, Ms. Ikhlass Sebhi and School Health Adviser, Ms. Taghreed Al-Imam. The event included entertainment corner, coloring corner, healthy diet corner, and cavity prevention corner. The biggest corner was dedicated to examination; 257 school girls were dentally examined and some got treated with fluoride for cavity prevention. A simple awareness message about dental care and its impact on body health was delivered to school girls. It’s worth mentioning that the schoolgirls with healthy teeth received appreciation certificates.
Later, female students and dentists demonstrated to school girls the right brushing technique, and informed them of the healthy diet that should be followed for healthy teeth and prevention of cavity. The college dentist team was honored by the school for their efforts in spreading health awareness among school girls. The school also extended thanks to the Oral radiology TA and supervisor of the campaign and student mission, Dr. Ghaydaa Mohamed Ba-Dhab’an.
The college group included: Ghaydaa Mohamed Dhabaan, Abrar Turki Fakih, Uhud Abdulmajeed Mash’aby, Umaima Nasir Al-Qahtani, Ghufran Mohamed Ba-Dhab’an, Anwar Mohamed Al-Zahrani, Walaa Abdulkarim Al-Tawiriki, Mariam Faisal Abu Raziza, Bashayer Mohamed Nour Wali, Doaa Salih Ba-Zid, Ghaydaa Rajaa Al-Thabiti, and Zahraa Helal Al Ashour.
UQU College of Dentistry thanked the school administration for the warm welcome and attention to their students’ health manifested by applying the motto “A sound mind in a sound body”.
