The Female Section of the Deanship of Preparatory year -Medical Trajectory- organized miscellaneous events and proceedings for female students, during Jumada al-Oola 1438H, with the purpose of developing capabilities of students, polishing their scientific and practical skills and creating opportunities to spend leisure time at useful and beneficial activities.
This came under the auspicious of his Highness / Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the Preparatory Year and under the supervision of her Highness / Dr. Heba Bint Said Al Amoudi's, Vice-Dean of Preparatory Year- Medical Trajectory- Female Section at Abdiya.
Such events were distinguished with variation along with enormous participation and integration by a large number of students based on partnership between different departments and units at the deanship from one side and other internal and external bodies from the other side, a matter which increases opportunities of utilization and develops spirit of communication and integration among all bodies, thus, fostering the academic relations whether inside or outside the deanship.
The cultural activities included, inter alia, a debate titled (Self-Awareness) which aims at increased awareness of proper concepts of mental health, familiarization with different strategies to raise level of the same along with learning and applying four successful skills to foster the same.
In the same context, an induction event was organized about the 8th student scientific forum for the purpose of motivating creative students to demonstrate their creativity and their creative production as well as to develop their different skills.
The events and proceedings lasted for three days during which the following pivots were discussed: recitation and marketing, awareness films and community service, researches, creativity, business and small-sized enterprises and artistic works. All inquiries raised by students were answered.
Students participated in activating the International Women's Day at the campus within the framework of social activities, keeping students in touch with current incidents, providing examples of leading women through demonstration some of their influential situations at the community, motivating students to have an effective role in the community, enhancing women position at the Saudi Arabia Community and giving students opportunities for self-assertion.
An event was organized, with participation by KAFA Organization, to increased awareness of harms of smoking and drugs. The event began with a review on the organization vision, mission and strategic objectives, followed by discussing factors of success and target segment. Then, students listened to harms and unhealthy consequences of smoking supported by comparative review of a lung of a smoker and non-smoker. The event, also, discussed quantity of poisons absorbed by smokers and answered all inquiries raised by students.
Moreover, an event was organized in collaboration with Wadi Makkah Technology Co to introduce the role and tasks of the company for supporting distinct ideas and innovations as students can seek the help of the company to implement and prepare samples of their distinct innovations and ideas.
Al-Ghamdi, in his turn, expressed his thanks and appreciation to his Highness/ His Highness Dr. Bakry bin Matuq Assass, Umm Al-Qura University President and the Vice-President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Ali Sorouji. He appreciated their continuous and growing support to the Deanship of preparatory Year, stressing that such events are fruitful thanks to their since care and continuous follow-up of students.
