Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education organized a training course on the e-learning basics at the e-learning lab in King Abdullah Library on Monday Jumada Al-Oula 24, 1438 H corresponding to February 20, 2017. The course which was attended by 26 faculty members and some certified trainers was presented by Dr. Al-Asaad Qasim Al-Simairani and Dr. Osama Braki Al-Jarari.
Before starting the course, the specialized courses to be held by the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education opening from the next week were announced. At the beginning of the course the trainees were briefed on the training programs of the deanship which will be delivered at all the institutes and colleges during the current academic year on how to use the system of learning management and its tools. And that this program is subject to continuous evaluation by instructors and students and many improvements are introduced to it from year to year. The raining course covered three axes including the importance of e-learning and available infrastructure at Umm Al-Qura University, how to manage courses and learning environment besides the how to create the e-content.
It's worth mentioning here that the faculty members interacted positively with the course and started directly to put the content of their courses on the portal and use the tools explained to them including; news, groups, discussions, delivery folder and labels management.
