Under the organization of the Female Student Affairs Unit at the College of Community Services and Continuing Education (female section in Al-Shishah), the Programs Department held the introductory meeting for the female students of the Qualifying Year Program and the Evening Joint First Year. This meeting was held in the presence of Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Faizah bint Muhammad Hamdi Al-Harbi, Her Excellency the Deputy Head of the Programs Department, Dr. Faten bint Abdul-Muhsin Al-Jafri, Her Excellency the Deputy Head of the Diplomas Department, Dr. Azhar bint Rashad bin Abdul-Rahman Jan, and a number of executive supervisors from the participating colleges for the academic year 1440-1441 A.H. This introductory meeting was held on Thursday, 20 Muharram, 1441 A.H., at Lady Khadijah Hall at the headquarter of the Evening Joint First Year.
The meeting started with a welcoming speech followed by a video on the vision, mission, and objectives of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education that clarifies the program offered by the college to all people. The Deputy Head of the Programs Department, Dr. Faten Al-Jafri, gave a speech in which she gave a detailed explanation on the programs and what services they offer to the students who were unable to join the university by giving them the chance to achieve their goals. Her Excellency pointed out the required conditions for passing the program and all related academic issues. Then, Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Faizah Al-Harbi, gave a speech in which she pointed out the keenness of the university to hold introductory meetings and programs for new female students to remove the obstacles they may face, inform them about the regulations and bylaws in services and educational aspects, and tell them about the university community in general. She used this chance to inform female students about the units in the college and how they can get the required services. She also talked about college activities female students can join to develop their skills and spend their leisure times doing beneficial things.
The Supervisor of Female Student Guidance and Advising Unit, Ms. Attaf Al-Subhi, delivered a speech on behalf of the female students in which she mentioned the regulations and bylaws that are approved in the Students' Rights and Duties Guide issued by the Deanship of Female Student Affairs. She also mentioned the most important points of this guide and gave a short account about the Services Unit, its supervisor and employees who exist in their specified floors under the supervision of Ms. Abir Sharaf, the Supervisor of the General Services Unit. She also indicated that female students received an introduction about the Technical Assistance Unit by its supervisor, Ms. Rafi`ah Filimban.
The ceremony ended with a question and answer session. Then, prizes were offered to new female students.
