The Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education organized a training course on the Saudi Open Educational Resources Platform (SHMS). The course was delivered by Dr. Mundhir Al-Hamzawi and Dr. Lassaad Smirani, in the training hall at the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, at the University City in Al-Abdiyyah, on Thursday, 11 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 20 February, 2019 A.C.

The event was attended by the academic staff members who had already passed the first phase of the Open Educational Resources program, and had obtained the membership certificate of SHMS. The course included several sessions, the first of which was concerned with discussing how to search for groups on the SHMS platform, as well as how to join a group, and identify private and public groups. The first session also talked about identifying the characteristics of group management and controlling its information, and the way of sending an invitation to join the group and managing its members.

The second session touched on the importance of evaluating the open educational resources. It also discussed the types of assessments, and the rating scale in the assessment of resources. The third session dealt with how to create educational lessons and units.
