Under the noble auspices of the Dean of Joint First Year Deanship, His Excellency Dr. Sa`d bin Sai`d Al-Ghamdi, and the supervision of His Excellency the Vice Dean for Campuses, Dr. Rami Basha, a visit was organized to Umm Al-Qura University Museum, at Aziziyyah campus. This was in order to implement the training and activities plan prepared by the Deanship for Campuses.
A visit was organized for the students of the Joint First Year Deanship of Jamoum Campus, male section, on Sunday, 18 Jumada Al-Awwal 1440 A.H. Some members of the staff of the Joint First Year Deanship for Campuses coordinated the visit, namely Mr. Rami Al-Sulaimani, Mr. As`ad Sai`d, Mr. Asil Ahmad, and Mr. Muhammad Hassan. His Excellency Dr. Fahd Al-Maliki, the General Supervisor of UQU Museum, received and welcomed the guests to the museum. He expressed his pleasure with their visit and showed his full readiness and enthusiasm to host frequent visits from other students of the Joint First Year Deanship.
Mr. Ahmad Al-Sufyani, a staff member of UQU Museum, provided a complete explanation of the different sections of the museum, which contained a collection of ancient weapons and manuscripts, in addition to the ancient heritage of life in Mecca, encompassing the various aspects of life. The museum also displayed pictures of the evolution of the Saudi dress through different ages, and large array of taxidermy mounts of wild animals and birds.
At the end of the visit, the students and staff of the Joint First Year Deanship expressed their thanks and appreciation to the museum administration for their warm hospitality, and the precious heritage which they saw exhibited. They prayed that Almighty Allah would keep their beloved Kingdom prosperous and stable under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Highness Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and preserve them as an asset for the success of this nation, blessing them with health and wellbeing.
