Under the noble sponsorship of His Excellency the Dean of the Joint First Year, Dr. Sa`d bin Sa`id Al-Ghamdi, and the supervision of His Excellency the Vice Dean for Branches, Dr. Rami bin Adel Basha, and in order to carry out the training plan, activities and the academic guidance at the vice deanship for branches, the training programs were resumed at Al-Leith branch for students and academic staff.

The branch of the Joint First Year in Al-Leith (Male Section) held a training course for students and academic staff entitled, 'Scientific Research Plan', on 8 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. The course was offered by Dr. Ahmad Al-Zahrani, who tackled several important points, such as the importance of scientific research in the life of the university student and how to write a research proposal, especially its important components: the introduction, significance of the study, research problem and questions, research procedures, and other important elements in the research proposal.

The Joint First Year Branch in Al-Leith (Male Section) organized another training course on 11 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., for students, entitled, 'Administering Time'. The course was presented by the Lecturer Amir Al-Suwaidan, and covered several main points, such as organization, planning, guidance, follow up and assessment.

At the end of the lecture, the trainer offered some directions and recommendations to students about the necessity of making optimal use of time, managing and organizing it in a way that helps them achieve progress in their academic study and success in reaching their goals in life.
