A training course was held at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies on Tuesday, 9 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 15 January, 2019 A.C., on the 'Open Educational Resources Platform (SHMS)'. The course was held in the framework of the partnership between the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education and the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, in cooperation with the Vice-Deanship of the College for Training and Community Service, after coordinating with His Excellency the Vice-Dean, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Salmi. The course, which targeted the academic staff at the College, was offered by Dr. Mundhir Al-Hamzawi.
Some of the most important goals of the course were to show the importance of open educational resources, become familiarized with the interface of the SHAMS Platform, and be able to manage personal files.
The course also tackled the definition and the characteristics of Creative Commons Licenses. As for the practical side, the course explained how to search for open educational resources on the platform, and how to upload and create educational resources.
