Under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairy, Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, a training course on virtual reality (VR) was organized on Thursday, 8th Ramadan 1439H (24th May 2018). The course was presented by Mrs. Sarah Hassan from the University City in Al-Zaher, to which the event was transmitted via television broadcasting.
At the beginning of the course, Mrs. Sarah Hassan demonstrated the concept, significance and individual’s need of VR. In addition, the trainer briefed the difference between virtual reality (VR) and ِaugmented reality (AR). In other words, VR separated one completely from his/her current and immediate world, while AR did not and even enabled one to improve matters in reality. Moreover, Mrs. Sarah Hassan presented the method to get a 360 degree image using a mobile application, a 360 degree camera designed for such purpose or the images on Google. The course also included a practical aspect of using some websites to prepare 3D videos within the framework of VR.
