Through the follow-up of Dr. Kahled bin Hatem Al-Mutairy, Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, a joint working session was organized between the officials of the General Directorate of Education in Makkah Region and the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education in Umm Al-Qura University (UQU). The session was held in the morning of Tuesday 22nd Rabie II 1439H (9th January 2018).
From the Deanship, the following participants attended the meeting: Dr. Yaser Al-Hazemy (Vice-Dean for Academic Development and Community Service), Dr. Ahmad Hamid (Vice-Dean for Technical Affairs), Dr. Osama Al-Jarary (Head of the Training Department), Dr. Al-Asaad Al-Sumeirany (Head of the Public Relations and Media Department), and Mr. Muhammad Al-Morabaiy (Head of the Educational Studios and Class Halls Maintenance Unit). On the other hand, the meeting witnessed the participation of Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulkarim (Director of Educational Training Department), and Dr. Omar Hussein Al-Jafry (Supervisor of School Supplies) from the General Directorate of Education. The meeting also included a number of participants in training courses.
During the meeting, the methods to activate joint cooperation between the two sides in the domains of digital education and educational output improvement were discussed. Moreover, the draft cooperation agreement between the two parties was revised and the training programs proposed by the Training Department were reviewed.
It is noteworthy that this meeting is within the framework of fulfilling the agreement between the two parties during a Rabie I 1439H working session.
At the end of the meeting, participation certificates were distributed among Education General Directorate trainers. This was as they participated in the first phase of the training courses within the Development Program for Education General Directorate Affiliates.
In the same context, the attendees extended deep thanks to Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, UQU President, for his concern with opening up to the outer world and serving community. They also thanked Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Sorouji, UQU Vice-President for Educational Affairs, for his support for all the Deanship’s activities. In addition, they thanked Mr. Muhammad Al-Harthy, General Director of Education in Makkah, for his keenness to develop joint cooperation between the two institutions.
