“Minutes=years” for Preparatory Year Medical Track Female Students

Under the patronage of Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of the Preparatory Year Deanship, and the supervision of Dr. Azza bint Muhammad Banouna, Vice-Dean of the Preparatory Year Deanship for the Medical Track at the Girls section in Abediyah, an event titled, “Minutes=years” was organized by the Club of Preparatory Year Deanship for the Medical Track at the Girls section in Abediyah. The event aimed to activate the awareness campaign on combating breast cancer and to promote health education preventive efforts led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH).   

The event, attended by 800 students, included a lecture by Dr. Samar bint Ali Jalal, Head of the Women's Health Education Department and Supervisor of the National Program for Early Detection of Breast Cancer in Makkah. During the lecture, Dr. Samar Jalal emphasized the significance of prevention, early detection, monthly examinations and healthy food to prevent the disease.

The lecture was characterized by tangible interaction by the students, staff members and affiliates. They wrote words and phrases expressing their gratitude and their great benefit from this campaign.

On the other hand, Dr. Saad Al-Ghamdi pointed out that the organization of this event at this time indicated that the activities and events of the Deanship were in line with the local and international events. He also stressed that the various events taking place at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) would not have been possible without the unlimited support provided by Dr. Bakri bin Matouq Assas, UQU President, for all the student activities and educational events that took place at the university.

Within the same framework, Dr. Al-Ghamdi appreciated the role of Dr. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Sorouji, UQU Vice-President for Educational Affairs, to support the events and activities of the Preparatory Year Deanship.
