The meeting for student orientation was opened Tuesday, Muharram 6, 1439 AH in the Deanship branches in Al-Lith and Al-Qunfudhah by His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Preparatory Year. The meeting aimed at introducing students to all the education issues of interest to them; facilitating their tasks; and answering their queries. This meeting also represents a special response to the directions of His Excellency UQU President Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas and His Excellency UQU Vice President of Education Affairs Prof. Abdulaziz bin Rashaad Sorouji, with regard to giving attention to new students and welcoming them, as well as establishing all avenues for enabling UQU to embrace brilliant talents in all fields. The proceedings were opened by Dr. Al-Ghamdi in company with the Vice Dean of Branches Dr. Rami bin Adel Basha and the Administrative Director of the Deanship Mr. Ahmad bin Hassan Saleh Al-Sebyani.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi pointed out that the day was organized in the Deanship branches in Al-Lith and Al-Qunfudhah since the Deanship has been eager to give a warm welcome to its own students, as they approach this critical stage in their educational and professional life. The Deanship has also been keen on giving students a fatherly treatment, on the basis that they are real partners in the education process, and familiarizing them with their rights and duties. This is in addition to letting them know that they are given top priority for benefiting from all the Deanship’s material resources and potentials; academic and administrative leaders; faculty members; administrative staff; and technical staff. The Deanship wants students to know that those people employ the whole of their experience and exert their utmost effort so that all its students can achieve outstanding success, in light of their abilities and the potential they have.

The meeting opened up in the Deanship headquarters in Al-Lith. Dr. Al-Ghamdi, together with the accompanying delegation, met the students; listened to their academic requests; and ensured that the education service they receive is at a high standard. This was in the presence of His Excellency Dean of Al-Lith University College Dr. Muhammad Al-Maleki; His Excellency Dean of Al-Lith College of Engineering Dr. Eskandar Hawsawi; and His Excellency Vice Dean of Al-Lith College of Health Science Dr. Anas Dablool. At the end of the meeting, students received souvenirs from the Deanship of Students Affairs.

Afterward, the delegation of the Deanship continued their visit and headed to meet the students in Al-Qunfudhah headquarters. And the varied proceedings of the orientation day started there. The students had their queries and questions answered. They were given necessary advice and directed to the entities that can help them. At the close of the day, a number of memorial photos were captured with faculty members and students. This was in the presence of His Excellency Vice Dean of Students Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah Dr. Mastour Al-Faqeeh who supervised the distribution of the souvenirs presented by the Deanship of Students Affairs.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi commended the support offered to the Deanship of Preparatory Year by UQU President Dr. Assas and the continuous follow-up provided by UQU Vice President of Education Affairs Prof. Sorouji to all the Deanship’s events and activities.
