Under the generous auspices of Dr. Hala S. al-Amoudi, Dean of University Studies for Girls, the Saudi Fiqh Association, in cooperation with the Sharia Department of the UQU College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, organized a seminar on the "Provisions of Abortion and Premature Children" on Monday, Rajab 27, 1438H. Dr. Farida M. al-Ghamdi, the Vice Dean of University Studies, attended on Dr. Al-Amoudi's behalf. Participating in the seminar were Dr. Awatef T. al-Bouqari, assistant professor of Fiqh principles and associate of the Saudi Fiqh Association, and Dr. Rahma A. al-Zahrani, consultant physician of obstetrics and gynecology at the University Medical Center. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Layla N. al-Muqbel, associate professor of Fiqh principles and member of the Saudi Fiqh Association.
As part of the seminar, a presentation was displayed on the stages of embryo formation, following which questions on the scientific and religious aspects of abortion and premature birth was discussed and answered.
