The Center of English Language Education
The Center of English Language Education was established in 1982 at the College of Education in Makkah. It was then affiliated to the College of Social Sciences in 1984, together with the department of English Language.
Goals:
1- Provision of English language courses to the academic departments of the university and graduate students in the field of ‘da'wa' (call to Islam) who will work in non-Arabic- speaking societies.
2- Arrangement of training courses in the English language for teaching assistants and lecturers who will be sent abroad for their graduate studies, and for other employees who are interested in furthering their English language knowledge.
3- Hosting scholars and arrangement of lectures, conferences and workshops in the English language, and conducting research and field experiments to improve the methods of teaching the English language.
4- Translation of books and research results that strongly concern Muslims.
