The prediction of student violence behavior according to some variables for Saudi University Students

( Solutions and Suggestions )

Abstract

             The aim of  this study to predict the violence behavior in the light of some following variables:

Aggressive behavior , achievement motivation , mental health , self - esteem for Saudi University Student , as well as to recognize the differences in the violence behavior according to sex and cultural background interaction.

             The student violence scale , aggressive behavior , and mental health scale were designed and its psychometrics characteristics from validity and reliability were computed . Further , the psychometrics characteristics of  achievement motivation and self - esteem were computed . The study sample consists of 240 male and female students from rural and urban background ( M. = 22,1  Yrs.old )

             The results indicated as the following :     

*       There is a positive statistical significant correlation between student violence and Aggressive behavior.

*       There is a negative statistical significant correlation between student violence and achievement motivation.

*       There is a negative statistical significant correlation between student violence and mental health.

*       There is a negative statistical significant correlation between student violence and self - esteem.

*       There is significant prediction for student violence in the light of the following variables: aggressive behavior , achievement motivation , mental health and  self - esteem.

*       The urban background males are more tendency to student violence .

             The results were interpreted and some future researches and suggestions are required.
