The new site of Umm Alqura University was launched based on new vision and new technology. The site will be at this stage to focus on improving the content of the English language to be similar to the content of the Arabic language.

In this new phase, the site also adopted on the concept of (Web 2.0), a modern concept to design Web sites allowing users to interact efficiently with the site. In addition, it acclimates automatically with the user's screen resolution, without any effect on the beauty and coherence of the site.

One of the most important changes that have taken place on new site is the site divisions that provide easily navigation through the site. To access information more easily and quickly ways, the site strengthens the search mechanism within the site so that researchers can reach to their destinations as soon as possible.

The site highlight the different buildings and facilities of the university It by identifying the part of the Home Pape of the site to display different images on the way that guarantee justice and equality for all.

Moreover, the site has also included another aspect of multimedia. Every academic institution has numerous events and activities that should be highlighted more effectively. Therefore, Vision Library has been established (video library). A library contains many video files of films and documentaries on different occasions of the University.

In line with the University's distinguished services, the new site provides many new services to the users and visitors. One of these services is "local news" that displays within the University Home Page of the site, so, the visitor will be informed the latest news and the most important domestic news of the university. Not only that, users can find more news about different parts of the university in the internal website which relates to the specific department.

One of the distinguished services at the site is "My Site". It is a service that enables the faculty of creating and building his personal site and enriches his site by all interested in the information and academic research.

The site provides an easy and unique way in how to deal with the site where the user does not face any difficulty in this service.

The site do not neglect the attention of the university to educational aspects, Jusur System has been added to the site of the university. It is a learning environment, which provides electronic communication between faculty members and students.


In order to increase the communication between site and its visitors, the IT Center was in a race to raise two services:
The first service is "your voice to the official". The service aims to deliver proposals and problems to the university's administrators that hosted from time to time.
The second service is "referendum" or voting. The most important topics will be offered every week and made available to visitors of the site to participate in this survey.
